Pond-ology is owned by Larry Cofer, retired Regional Fisheries Supervisor with the Oklahoma Department of Wildlife Conservation. After graduating from Oklahoma State University (B.S.- Wildlife Ecology) and Auburn University (M.S.- Fisheries Science), Larry worked in Florida and then returned to Southwest Oklahoma. He spent 32 years managing the lakes, streams and ponds in a 15-county region- sampling fish populations, writing survey reports, improving fish habitat, constructing docks and boat ramps, and making stocking recommendations. Upon retirement in 2015, Larry launched Pond-ology to help private landowners and HOAs manage their ponds.

 

Besides fishing, Larry enjoys golf, pickleball and "adventure vacations." "I grew up fishing in farm ponds, and our family still owns one that we manage. Some of our best memories come from the ponds we owned and fished, and I know other pond owners want those experiences."

 

Larry is joined in the business by his wife, Debbie, recently retired from a successful career as a nurse and hospital administrator. Thier son, Jarret, is a marketing professional in the DFW area, and runs the Pond-ology website, social channels, and more. Pond-ology has now expanded to North Texas, where Larry and Debbie now live closer to their children and grandchild.
